Frequently asked questions
Can RDP resolution of my screen / part of my screen be auto-scaled?
By default, RDP media resolution fits the available screen area in order to avoid scrollbars. In any case, it is always possible to customize manually the resolution.
Can medias be reconnected on connection loss ?
Yes, in case of media unavailability. SPLIT will reconnect at least in 30 seconds in case of unavailability of the media.
Can an access be restricted to specific users?
After SPLIT installation all the functions are available by default, nevertheless some of them can be restricted by using Active Directory or machine users.
Can redundant servers be used for media?
Yes, at least one source is required for each media (there is no limit for sources quantity). If the first source is unavailable, SPLIT will connect to the following one until the end of the list. The operation is restarted till one of the sources is available.
When using redundancy, can certain clients be forced to connect to a specific source ?
Yes, while using redundant sources, the initial source could be different according to the client machine name, the windows user name or split session name.
For example, this allows SPLIT to split the CPU/RAM use on multiple servers to avoid a master/slave scenario when one user is slow and another ones remains unused.
Can media be shared among multiple clients?
Yes, this can be done through 2 method :
- Manually by using the export / import functionality on media library
- Automatically by activating the Synchronisation between multiple clients
Can actions be automatized in media after loading?
Only web media allows to run javascript while loading. It allows access to specific elements on the web page using, for example ,their HTML ID to set data (example : username, password,…).
For other media formats like RDP or VNC, actions must be scripted on the server side.
